Friend's nails

Here are some deaigns I made for friends:

Soak off polish by IBD (Magic Genie) , and simple flower petals with acrylic paint:

Another design with coral french over NSI cover pink warm gel overlay, and simple 3d flowers:

And another one, this time a Cuccio Veneer french with one stroke flowers:)

and another one, where we used Indigo Nail LAb gel, NSI pearl white and decorated with swarovski and flowers:

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a decent picture of the last one, but it is ok, the flowers were bought, so there is no actual nailart, just ready made decorations...

The foiled rose

Here is the "Red Carpet" by Indigo. It is a beautiful red, with very discrete gold shimmer. You can't see it unless you are searching how to describe the color, lol, but it gives the polish a very beautiful tone.

For the roses, I used the french pink background and made the rose pattern with polish. I let it dry and applied the gel paint to make the outlines. Cured in a uv lamp for 2 min and applied the golden foil.

The risk you have when you are working with polish, is that even when it feels dry (but isn't) it may pick some foil as well. So I got some foil on the red part, and filled it again with red. I think I lost some of the 3d effect, but saved the design:) Oh, the topcoat should better be a soak off, or any that you know that it will not crack and rinkle the foil..

Foil is very important, I had many gold foils that didn't work. The ones that work are super thin, and make small breaks if you fold them.. If you want to watch the tutorial, click here

Easy delicate french with glitter and flowers

I had a request to show how I did this french manicure. The original was on my sister, Maria, with NSI gels.

This time I used polish and acrylic paint. First I covered all nails with a french pink polish, Korres "washed off pink". I had to do this, because on my right hand I have a gel overlay with a dark pink shade, so this made them both look the same. If I hadn't, I would use a normal french pink and continue with the french with Seventeen N.103 (white). Since my nailbed was too dark, I used Korres " Pink Shamagne" over the darker pink.

I applied some glitter diagonaly, and covered with topcoat. When it dried, I started painting the easiest flowers ever: daisies. Some dots and scrolls to fill the pattern and make it look more delicate, a rhinestone in the center and the final top coat.

Duochrome polish and one stroke nailart

I've had this amazing polish for a month, before I managed to try it. It is by Seventeen, and the code is 539. It is supposed to be a duochrome, but depending on the light and the angle you have your nails at, you can see gorgeous purple/burgundy, olive green, and bronze. And all these with metallic/shimmery effect.

I decided to make some classic one stroke flowers, using similar colors (the purple and green), and keep them close to the cuticle, so that the color shows best on half the nail. Here are some pictures taken inside with artificial light:

I have filmed the nailart process, edited so that I wouldn't take more of your time, and uploaded the video on youtube. I hope I showed all the steps in a comprehensive way..  If you decide to do this on short nails, skip the entire flower and just make 2 or 3-petal ones at the corners of ring and middle finger. This way there will still be enough space for the lovely color to show..

Miss Pixie - Textured polish and 3d nailart

Here is another beautiful Zoya nail polish, from the Pixie Dust series, the gorgeous Chyna ZP657. I can't say how happy I am with this color!! I got it from the fair a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to try it.

I was very puzzled.. what should I add to this color once I applied it? I don't feel confortable wearing any single color on my nails, not at this length anyway.. But thankfully, once it was applied, I had a very nice surprise: the color comes out different than the bottle shows. It looks like it has a much darker base and is full of red glitters! A-ma-zing!!

As Zoya suggests, I didn't apply any base coat. I did the first coat, which was opaque but a lighter shade of red. Also, if you looked realy close, not the whole surface had the texture effect. So, I waited for it to dry, and applied my second coat. No top coat either, this was new to me, only tried it with my blue Pixie Dust polish so far:)

Well, we have matt texture and glitter.. how about some 3d flowers? I started carefully with my left thumb, and this is how it looked:

Of course I liked it, but desided to make the outlines in gold glitter. I admit I wasn't very careful with them, I had to finish quick and go out.. If I had a few more minutes, I would first apply gold polish, and then follow with gold glitter polish, so that the lines would be better seen and separated. Oh, well, I thought I could change it later (I never did..) 

It shows better on the ring, my glitter lines weren't very careful, but I still like it:)

Don't ask me about the 3d brush, the one in the photo is probably the worst brust ever, I mostly used a special one that I show in the video tutorial, which will be uploaded tonight on youtube.

Do you like texture polishes?

On the 4rth of December, I decided to change the outlines. I carefuly removed some of the glitter and applied white polish instead, it looked much better, very bright. When I removed (I get bored, lol) I had to file down most of it, using my electric file, and continue with aceton, as with all glitter polishes. 

Black glitter and flowers

These are my friend's new nails:) We started with a classic french, and then she spotted the black glitter.. "This one!" Ok, this one it was.
 To fill the design, we could make some modern abstract patterns, but it was one of these days when I feel I have two left hands.. I went for the easy flower version, in purple, to soften the look.

This is NSI Balance gel, the marks on the surface are from the cuticle oil. 

Tulips

Here is my latest nailart, easy handpainted tulips over magnificent Nfu-Oh N.544, the darkest purple brown I 've ever seen..

It is the first thing we think off, add contrasting colors to pop out, 3ds, onestroke, bling.. Well, this time, I didn't want to cover the beautiful dark color.. but I still feared I would look like a witch with these nails in pure dark.. Oh, you, with your short nails, you are just lucky to be able to wear them all..

 My tulips are handpainted. I made the shape with the dark color, added stems and leaves with dark green, and started with highlights: Light purple for the flower, light green for the leaves. Lastly, I added the gold highlights, which realy made it stand out.

I have to say I am not happy with the Lidan paints.. I am only using them because I don't like wasting products, and would never never use them for one stroke, they are not very opaque and you have to add white to all of the colors.. 

Metallic blue and easy flower decoration

I enjoy reading the names that the companies find for their polishes! After having a "Guns and Roses" and a "Deep Purple" video, I stopped trying to find names. This was automaticaly the "Metallica" and I have an un-edited animal print design (Guess what the title will be, lol). You can watch the tutorial here.

Peronal Stylist by ColorClub is a gorgeous color, which I failed to capture with my camera:) If you love bold metallic colors, then this is one you should have.. I started making the design, but realized that the white was more distracting than what I was aiming for, so I added more colors and various rhinestones, which complimented it without taking the first role in this play. You could also try one stroke, but I already had it a few weeks ago over a similar blue polish (I love blues).. Un-edited as well..

I did the ring the exact same way as my nails, it was just big enough to fit the whole flower.

Deep purple

I love this deep, but not too dark, purple color. It is by Color Club, N.886 Ms Socialite. Gorgeous, creamy, applies well and dries fast.
I would be happy to have it alone on my nails, but I decided to go for a french manicure instead. So I added some one stroke flowers on 3 of each hand's nails (thumb, middle and ringfinger).

I started with the french manicure, spread some iridesent glitter at the tip, sealed and painted the flowers using purple and white. I added the outlines and minibeads (mostly gold, but with a few silver ones as well, because they were mixed by a small accident..)

Lately, I find myself trying out nail polish on pebbles, so some of these pebbles become matching rings. This color and nailart was definately going to have one!

Blue pedi

I love blue!
This was supposed to be a watermarble toenailart.. I had already prepared a plastic surface covered with a clear polish coating, but never got to it. My bullseye dried too fast (from the 3rd drop of polish)!

Before I let myself be frustrated, I changed my mind and did a simple white flower/abstract pattern instead.

The polish is by Erre Due, "Last Minute N.95. The pattern was made with acrylic paints. My daughter has the same color on her toes, filled with stickers:P

On her nails (hands) the polish is by CND, Vinilux "Strawberry Smoothie". To perform the ultimate test, since polish goes off children's nails too fast, their nails being so oily. I cleaned with alcohol and added two coats of polish (no base required for Vinilux application). The color is very discrete and very elegant in real.

The bridesmaid nailart

2-3 years ago, I would avoid wearing pink polish on my nails, now I have so many of them.. what a change :)

This nailart started as a request from Stella, who will do her own nails for her sister's wedding. She asked for easy flowers and pink color, as the bridesmaid's dress will have pink details.

So I made a faded background with pink polishes, added some fairydust glitter and painted flowers with acrylic paints. This is very easy, you can find the tutorial here!

"Mavala blue"

I loved this french manicure. It was created with Mavala polish and glitter. The flowers are hand painted:)
